Keene Valley is a Mecca for true nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.  

The trailheads to many of the Adirondack High Peaks, the Great Range, and the Adirondack Mountain Reserve are located in Keene Valley, just a short walk from our bed and breakfast.  

In winter, these hiking trails provide endless miles of snow shoeing or back country skiing.  

Keene Valley is home to the Lake Placid - Adirondack region's most popular rock and ice climbing areas. Situated in and around Keene Valley are dozens of less frequented cliffs within easy driving distance.  Enjoy a swim in one of our many local swimming holes or in picturesque Chapel Pond after a day in the woods.  The village itself boasts several cozy restaurants and cafés, and its boutiques and mountaineering stores are truly unique.

Keene Valley is only a short drive away  from Lake Placid, the sight of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.  Ski jumping, figure skating, bobsled runs, world class skiing, dog sledding, fine dining and shopping are among the many attractions of this alpine village.  

The Lake Placid and Saranac Lake Region are also a paddler’s paradise, providing countless options for canoe or kayak.  Skiers will delight in the dramatic Whiteface Mountain Ski Area, as well as the groomed cross-country ski trails at the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic Ski Area.

We are just minutes away from the famed Jackrabbit Cross Country ski trail and backcountry skiers will find a wide range of other terrain as well.
