For over 20 years, the historic Keene Valley Lodge has provided a cozy and convenient home base in the Adirondack High Peaks for outdoor enthusiasts. Located right in the center of the small mountain hamlet of Keene Valley, the Lodge allows easy access to the legendary hiking trails of the Adirondack Great Range, the nearby rock and ice climbing cliffs and crags, and endless miles of backcountry ski and snowshoe trails. And, we’re just 20 minutes from Lake Placid.
Welcome back to the Keene Valley Lodge!
We were so excited to reopen our doors last summer! After operating the lodge for over 21 years, we launched a major renovation of the entire lodge in 2020 after making the difficult decision to close during the pandemic. We so missed our wonderful guests during that challenging year and can’t wait for you all to see the results!

After a day in the Wilderness…Relax at our Lodge
We are delighted to be able to provide the same delicious breakfast that you have all come to know and love, including our famous muffins, oatmeal bar, fresh fruit, cheesy scrambled eggs, bread from our local Dogwood Bakery, and fabulous locally roasted coffee. Relax after a day in the woods next to the massive granite fireplace or in a rocking chair on the sunny front porch, or stretch out by the firepit on the bank of the Ausable River just behind the Lodge. Village restaurants and shops are just a stroll away after your day in the mountains… No need to get back in the car!
Today’s guests will enjoy the same irresistible allure that has made Keene Valley a destination for hikers, skiers, artists, writers, fishermen, and nature lovers for over a century. Its spectacular peaks, clear streams and waterfalls, and intimate village life will capture the imagination, and call the visitor back year after year.
